WVLMS is making its members aware of a scammer.
A member reported that a person called posing as a seller for a property. The caller said they wanted to "list their land" which was not their own, pretended to be an OSU professor, and their speech was muffled and hard to understand. Others have reported receiving these calls.
The individual is calling from spoofed numbers, (I.E. the number on the call log is not the real number they are calling from).
We don't currently have any insight into the scammer's goal. As always, remember to vet any leads to ensure the caller is acting in good faith, and never give out confidential information before knowing exactly who you're working with.
