PRE-status signals a “coming soon” listing, one which is neither showable, nor syndicated beyond the WVMLS system. The overall concept is to foster cooperation between Members, in that listings are shared with fellow members BEFORE being advertised elsewhere.

Two types of scenarios are ideal for PRE-status listing: 1) The property is not quite ready for market and/or 2) The seller wants to promote their listing as “Coming Soon.

In 2016 & 2017, WVMLS began to receive a high number of Member complaints about transactions happening OUTSIDE the cooperative MLS environment (social media, big-name real estate portals, ect.)...giving Members no opportunity to bring a buyer. Members said “I want to see ALL the active inventory, not have to go 6 places for it!.” “PRE” is a sub-active WVMLS status that was created in August, 2017 as a solution to this problem by requiring a listing be shared with Co-Members BEFORE being advertised elsewhere.
